All our visiting instrumental teachers work on a self-employed basis within the school and teach mainly during the school day. The Instrumental Scheme operates over 300 lessons a week on a rotation system, which means that students do not miss the same school lessons every week. Timetables are displayed for the full half-term sessions and are colour coded for each day’s lessons. Students have on average six thirty-minute lessons every half term and are charged at £87 (£14.50 per lesson). We are able to offer a competitive rate as we have one of the largest independent schemes in the county.  

Brittens Music in West Byfleet and ABC Music in Esher are the school’s main suppliers of instruments for purchase or rental. We also run an Instrument Purchasing Scheme, which allows parents to buy instruments through the school. The Director of Music, working alongside the peripatetic coordinator, monitors instrumental lessons and individual reports on progression and attainment are issued once a year. We aim to provide lessons for any instrument, subject to teacher availability.
